I grew up watching both shows, and Steve and Jaime went up against Russian spies, organized crime, robots, Fembots, aliens, Sasquatch, doomsday devices and death probes, but in the reunion movies, they said "Fortress" have regrouped. I don't remember any Fortress in both shows. Were they after the secret of bionics in episodes of both shows?
Although the events of Fortress were never televised on any episodes, the ongoing dialog from "Return of the Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman" , which first aired in May of 1987, specifies that defeat of Fortress and the capture of Stenning take place ten years prior. Considering that both SMDM and BW went through a six week hiatus with no new episodes during the latter half of their Spring season, we could estimate that the events of Fortress most likely occur during this lost month of no new episodes from either TV series. As such, Fortress is not the last mission of Steve during the period of time in the regular TV series. Note: It is not mentioned that Jaime has been requested to assist in this nationwide threat of Fortress. However, Oscar remarks to Jaime that "You're no stranger to Fortress either" in "Return of the Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman", implying that Jaime might have had her input during the Fortress crisis in 1977.
