who was the best

Gotta love Gutterman and T.J.

enjoyed the show a lot, both in the original airing and in reruns...
Gutterman and French were my favorite characters.

I once thought about how the characters' names could be read as verbs/descriptions of guys who (in the show) were supposed to be rebels/screwups/etc.:
Boyle (boil); Bragg (brag); French (as in kiss); Gutterman (obvious); T.J. (The Joker?) Wiley (as in 'coyote'?). Just a thought; I saw the History Channel hour on the real Black Sheep, and didn't see any of the names from the show repeated.

fave line: 'I've seen guys lying wine-soaked under a Seattle bridge that looked better than you...'

'We all dream of being a child again - even the worst of us. Perhaps the worst most of all...'

I like French the best then Anderson and Casey.

I hated Gutterman, He was my least favorite character followed by Boyle.

As for non pilots Hutch was the best but General Moore and COl. Lard were good as well.

Nancy Conrad couldn't act but she was pretty to look at.

I'm right with you on that. For some reason, he never worked for me (perhaps because he was a poor man's version of Pappy).

I also like that you set out the characters that really made the show work as far as I am concerned -- Lard, Moore, Casey, Hutch and a shout out for Red as well.

It wasn't too hard to be one of the many hard-drinking wild pilots, but those other guys set the platform for most of the storylines work in unique ways (and all were tops on acting).

I, too, am a Red West fan. I tought that he took what could have been a very one-dimensional character and brought layers to it. Took a cardboard cutout and turned it into a man. Woof! Also liked him in Road House. In fact, I don't recall anything I HAVEN'T liked him in.

I'm watching Up for Grabs and they've spent the majority of the show shirtless. I'm partial to Pappy and Dirk Blocker though.

Why ain't you at the garden party you heathen?

Conrad made the show what it was, but all of the Black Sheep were very good. Also liked Simon Oakland, Dana Elcar and Red West. Who could not like Red West. The guy who played Hutch was great too. Most of the women on the show were good as well. Denise Dubarry was my favorite nurse. Her first episode show off her killer body in those sexy shorts she wore. She has a great bikini body as well. She wore a bikini on both appearances on Charlie's Angels and on her appearance on the Love Boat.

The background guys did make the show work. I was always disappointed if an episode did not have a few minutes of Colonel Lard played by the great Dana Elcar. Anderson played by John Larroquette was my favorite pilot. I was disappointed when they killed off Hutch. Red West was good, too.
