Ever notice TJ's kill flags in S1E1?......They are american flags since

he was such a bad pilot having crashed 3 planes prior to joining the black sheep, and then in the first episode he shoots gutterman's plane and then crashes his own plane again going in too low and hitting a palm tree. Hilarious that they decided to put american kill flags as if he was a japanese ace (which boyington mentioned to laird during one of their arguments).

Just wanted to post that in case anybody missed it.
