Universal Studios decided not to release the show by seasons, but by volumes.

Not all the shows of season 1 are on the DVDs of Vol. 1 therefore 3 volumes.

reply

Is Vol 3 the last one or will there be more??I know this show was on and then off a couple of times when it originally aired

reply

Vol. 3 ist the last volume.

The Show had a total of 37 episodes (the 2 hour episodes count as a 2-parter).

reply

One question. Why has it only be released in France?!?!?!

reply

Possibly because the sales figures were better in France. But don't really know.

Europe is starting to catch up to release some shows faster than in the U.S.

reply

If Vol. 2&3 are being released in France, can they be viewed in the US? I know that some countries can't.

reply

Depends on a few factors:

1. You need a codefree dvd player.
2. You need a tv that supports pal (television picture standard), even though lcd tvs should support both formats. If you still have a regular tv you should check if it's a multisystem.

A little tip, on a computer laptop or regular pc no matter if lcd screen or crt screen, you can definitely watch them.

Release date July 3 just in time for Independence Day!!!What a day to celebrate!!!The idiots at Universal must of been getting the vibes I was sending.I almost bought the French release!!!.One thing irks me, why cant the studio have gotten John Larroquette or one of the other guys to do a commentary or two.Conrad cant because of health problems(listen to him on the WWW Season One set) but those guys are still in good health.Oh well at least were getting the DVDs!!

reply

Hey does anybody know if or When vol2 and 3 will be released in the US or even who to ask about this? Pls rpl to: [email protected]

reply

When thos idiots at Universal get their act together and release them

I pick up Volume 1 and 2 and this website

www.themediadepot.tv

the web link doesn't appear to be up any more, check back and see if it comes up again. The only bad thing about getting from this website is that is copied from the History Channel and where ever they could get the episodes from. It takes longer because it has to go through customs. Some episode arent great quality, sound cuts in and out , picture quality on some not the best.

I just found something call "The Rumor Mill" online that lists upcoming DVD releases and they are saying that Volume 2 is coming out in July. I've emailed Universal a couple of times in the past and they would just say there are currently no plans to release this title. I don't want to get my or anyone elses hopes up, but this is the first time I've ever even heard a rumor of a release date for Volume 2, so maybe this is it at long last. Hopefully, volume 3 won't take as long.

I just hope Vol 2 is better than the Vol 1 release. Two "extras" composed of short interviews with Boyington does not constitute any bonus features. Come on Universal, don't be a bunch of dumbasses! There is so much more they could put on there without any effort! How about a commentary, or an interview with any surviving cast member? How about any outtakes, how about an interview with any of the number of Hollywood stunt pilots who flew the real Corsairs in the series? Did you know that they almost lost 2 of the real Corsairs during filming? One of the Corsairs flew so low over a palm tree during a simulated tree-top attack that it knocked several palm fronds down. That scene was left in the series, by the way. Yet, the general public probably knows nothing about this. The "extras" or "bonus" features could be so HUGELY entertaining if Universal just gave a damn, instead of worrying about putting no effort into this release, so they could get a quick buck! If Vol 2 sucks, I will NOT be purchasing Vol 3!

*rant over*

According to tvshowsondvd.com Volume 2 will be released in the US on July 3rd, 2007. It will have the remaining 12 episodes from season 1 on three discs with a total running time of 587 minutes. Suggested retain is $39.98. Better late then never I guess.
