This show doesn't get the recognition that it should.

"Alice" went 11 seasons, the same as "MASH" and "Happy Days", which are considered two of the greatest all-time comedies in many lists.

Yet you hardly hear any mainstream talk about "Alice". There are no DVDs, it is hardly ever shown on TV, most cable or streaming services don't have the series to watch.

Why is this? Why is there so little talk about this show? I have not seen it since the 80's, since I can't find it anywhere (not even online).

Why are the shows not on DVD? I can't imagine that it would be song rights, as Linda Lavin sings the opening theme.

Why is this long-running show not given the kudos and recognition of other shows which ran just as long?

Alice didn't last 11 years. It lasted 9 years.

There are DVD sets of this show. The first 4 years are on DVD. Warner Bros. has yet to release the last 5 seasons. We don't know why. I'm gonna guess it's because they believe only the Flo seasons would sale which is why her episodes are complete on DVD including her spin off show.

I live in Australia, and the DVDs have never been released here. I read that they are only released in the U.S.A. and other Region 1 areas only. They haven't been released for Region 2,3 or 4.

Furthermore, I have not seen this series on TV, cable or any of the streaming services anywhere, and haven't seen it for over 20 years. Hell, another show I liked, "Benson" has only started being shown on TV again recently, after many years, which gives me some hope.

I can't even seem to find episodes on Youtube.

Why is there such limited release on DVD? I see heaps of other shows which gets DVD releases.
