Part of the Bicentennial productions?
Does anybody else remember that this production came along when even NBC, CBS, and ABC were on the bandwagon of providing Bicentennial programming? I was in highschool then and my faulty memory says that there were a lot of this type on the major networks. I recall that the quality was very good for this whole genre, but they seem to have been mothballed now. You cannot locate any of those "specials" - nor does there seem to be a way to locate any list of these productions no matter how I seem to filter the IMDB database or search the web. What an undeserved waste! I have seen one other of these on a premium channel called 'Valley Forge' with Richard Basehart as G. Washington, but that is all. I guess I have two questions for anyone out there:
1. Does anyone know of a source for a list of these productions? ...or a way to search IMDB successfully for them?...or barring that just a few other names of some of them?
2. Would anyone have an idea what might be done to get these out of the vault and preserved by putting them into circulation, on DVD, etc?
The second question is pretty general, but I just wanted to start off a conversation about it.
Thanks.
