Wind and the Lion scenery

I thought one of the best attributes to this film was the scenery. I traveled to Africa before (yearly), and the landscape and beaches are just that beautiful. I thought the cast was very good, and this movie is probably one of my favorites. Wind and the Lion is not aired on television much anymore, which is a disappointment.

This year I am vacationing in Morocco, and looking forward to the time there.

This movie was filmed in Spain, so if you want to see those landscapes and palaces you have to travel to Spain, to Andalucia.

Yes, the film was quite clearly filmed in Spain. I listened to John Millius's commentary on the DVD yesterday and I confirmed that the Bashaw's palace was indeed the Jerusalem HQ of the British Army in "Lawrence of Arabia". Not only that, but the final battle scene was filmed in the Aqaba set which had been constructed for the same movie (though apparently not the whole thing, or else it had really deteriorated in the thirteen years between that movie and this one). The entire film - including the scenes which allegedly take place in the US - was apparently filmed in Spain, mostly in Seville and Almeria.
