What was the opening song and artist?

Just caught this movie the other day on encore and it brought back memories of going to see it about 20 times when it came out in the theaters in '75. That was my cowboy period.

The open song is sun by a female artist. Hope you all can help me out.

The song as Drifting and Dreaming of You. The artist was Valeria Carter. I've had no luck finding this song on the Internet to download it, although there is a bluegrass version (this was originally a blue grass song) which can be found online.

This song is one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs I have ever heard and am glad that others appreciate it too. If anyone does know where Valerie's version can be obtained, please post it.

I'm so glad to see others out there asking this question... I remember seeing WLF when it first came out in theaters. That title song "Drifting and Dreaming" has haunted me ever since that day (kinda sad huh?). I've also searched extensivly for a CD(under sound track or Valerie Carter)with no results. Recording it off cable is the best we can do.

I'm not a big fan of country music but I do like this particular song.

I can only assume that she is part of the Carter family (as in Johnny Cash) legacy.

I was only 13 when this movie came out, but didn't see this until I was an adult.

I made an mp3 of the song from a VHS copy of the film. Anyone who wants me to email them a copy, just send me a private message.
