The stage!

It's SO small!

It sure is!

"A man writing an opera for a woman? Oh sirrah, how deliciously absurd!"

It really is small. Something that I really like about this film is that you never really know if what you see is set on stage or somewhere else.

Bergman makes wonders before your eyes (or before the lens of the camera) by merging the best things from his main passions: Theater and Cinema.
Most people are familiar with Bergman films but just a few lucky ones got to see one of the many wonderful plays directed by Bergman during his lifetime.
"The Magic Flute" is a glimpse into that world that most of us won't have the luck to experience.

That stage is more like a puppet theatre.
