In terms of maturity, I know quadrophenia is much more mature than tommy, so how the hell did they both get a 15 certificate? Also, does the original Quadrophenia album have a lot of swearing like the movie, or was the swearing just in the movie? And why the sudden maturity difference?
shareOnly the ratings board can explain why they gave both movies the same rating. There is one 'f-bomb' dropped on the original album by The Who, as well as in the soundtrack to the film. Maybe it was some of the stuff that is DONE to Tommy (think that sadistic cousin, and the molesting uncle, as well as that clearly sexual Acid Queen) that made the ratings board give it a '15'. (I am assuming that this rating - which is not used in the US - means 'suitable for 15 and older).
