My parents loved this movie and I recently bought the DVD And am Loving it!!! Ive watched it over & over and love the music and even {Most} of the acting.. Ok so heres my Question? Was reading a profile on Oliver Reed {Who I find Adorable!} and was wondering how do you think him and Ann-Margret got along during this Movie?? Reading all my Oliver Info ? Well Lets just say he was quite the wild boy!! So, With that Im just courious if anything was ever mentioned on how the 2 of them got along during filming etc.... I dont care what anyone says, But I found them the Perfect Couple in the Movie.. Would love to know what there movie Relationship was like??

I'm a big Oliver Reed fan myself, I found him very shmexy even as he got older! He was definitely a presence; he had the whole "larger than life" charisma thing going.

Ann Margaret was certainly a wild one as well, I can see why guys would be ga-ga over her. How about that scene where she has a "nervous breakdown" and rolls around in the beans and humps the pillow?! LOL holy cow.

I'd like to know what they thought of each other during that time, as well. I remember Reed said something nasty about Jack Nicholson in an interview:

Reed was also famed for his various public-feuds and opinions concerning certain well-known celebrities, among them Shelley Winters, Lee Marvin, Richard Harris, and Jack Nicholson. During an interview, when asked about Jack Nicholson, Reed once stated: “Nicholson? As far as I’m concerned, he’s a balding midget. He stands five-foot-seven, you know. He tries to play heavies and doesn’t quite make it.”

Ann Margret is very sweet and shy too. She just becomes a different person when she acts. She's nothing like her characters. I have heard that she got along great with Oliver Reed and kept telling him how funny she thought he was. Everyone loved her on the set.

Was there. Worked on TOMMY. They adored one another. As for Ann-Margret, She is without doubt, the most professional actress I've ever worked with. And the kindest. She should teach some of these young twats that I've had the misfortune of working with ,how to behave on set.

We became instant buddies, even though I shocked the hell out of him with my opening introduction.I don't mean to offend you but this is exactly what I said after hand shakes. " My sister CUMS every time she sees you on the screen". He loved it after the shock.

That is CLASSIC!

I've read Oliver Reed's autobiography. He adored Ann-Margret and wound up having a huge crush on her and he didn't understand what she saw in her husband. He wanted her for himself.

I've always heard that Ann-Margret was a very pleasant person to work with and a consumate professional.

I came across them all in a pub whilst they filming in the Lake district. Me and a friend played darts with Ken Russell and Robert Powell. There were two girls in the pub. Oliver Reed came in and about 10 minutes later left with both girls! Ann Margaret was at the bar and didn't seem concerned, though me and my mate were disappointed.

I have to admit that when I saw this movie originally in my teens, I didn't really like Oliver Reed's and Ann Margaret's parts in the film very much. Especially their singing. I was mainly interested in hearing the Who and the other rock stars. As I've gotten older now though, I've come to appreciate what Oliver Reed and Ann Margaret brought to the film.

Ann-Margaret got along with everyone on the set, and the men in particular were in awe of her. In The Who biography 'Eye Witness' Keith Moon was invited to dinner at her home, and arrived wearing a massive diamond ring. She commented on how beautiful it was and Moon instantly removed it and insisted she keep it as a gift. Just a little cute Who/Ann-Margaret story.

I heard Ann-Margaret had an affair with Roger Daltrey. Isn't that the rumor every time a beautiful woman works with a handsome man?

I love Ann Margret and learn to like her, since my mom was such a big fan. I grew up idolizing her. I have seen so many movies, she always comes across in interviews, movies etc, as such a respectful person. I have never heard anyone ever say anything nasty, crude about her. I miss Actresses like her, she's one of a kind, she's my favorite actress granted not my generation. I can appreciate a true Beauty and Talent. I believe now a days there are no Actresses that posses both Beauty and Talent. George Burns made a great discovery. IMO Ann-Margret is the most gorgeous woman in Hollywood, she can sing, dance and act(an Entertainer). I have seen movies with Oliver Reed comes across like a gentleman. and Yes I am a Straight Female that likes Pretty Guys like Chace Crawford :)

I know it has been a long time, but I just saw this board. Tommy is one of my favorite movies to watch when I can.

It seems that the entire cast was in love with Ann-Margaret. Especially the men! It is said that one night, the men got drunk together and decided they would go to Ann-Margaret's hotel room and profess their love for her and ask her to choose which of them she "loved". Members of production heard about the plan from one of the crew at the bar and called Ken Russell. They immediately decided to get Ann-Margaret out of the hotel she was in and took her to another hotel and checked her in under an assumed name. She remained incognito for the rest of the production. The men never got to "find" her and would continually come up with drunken plans to see who would win her heart.

The making of Tommy was quite an event-full experience to everyone around the production locations.

Isn't Ms. Margaret very devoted to her husband? That's what I've always heard. It's nice that the men admired her, but I don't think they would've had much success in turning her head :)
