Problems are length and "who is that?"

While I appreciate the artistry in this movie, including some of the long single-shot sequences, there were simply too many of those lingering shots that added nothing significant to the experience but, oh, so much to the running time. It made the movie seem like a big marathon that I had to fight to not give up before the end. And I can take Tarkovsky and other long, slow-paced movies. One of my most memorable movie experiences in recent years is Die andere Heimat - Chronik einer Sehnsucht (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1998204/?ref_=fn_al_tt_4).

The other problem is the same that Gu ling jie shao nian sha ren shi jian (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101985/?ref_=nv_sr_1) suffers from: Close-ups of faces which there are almost none. I just couldn't keep up with who's who and what's happening with them. Seriously, that threw me out of the movie probably more than anything.
