The Rape Scene

The rape scene was very problematic. Like, if you rape a girl she'll like you after that and want to date you. WTF?

Some people still have that attitude to this day.

Sad.

Yeah I loved the movie but that scene really bothered me. What's really bizzar is that Jack Hill, the director, is know for making exploitation movie that also serve as feminist films, such as the great Coffy and Foxy Brown. Not only was the girl from Switchblade Sisters raped and liked the guy, she even admited she was asking for it. Like what the hell?

What the hell is right?!! She never "admitted she was asking for it"!

She calls him an SOB initially, but she eventually pretty much agrees with him that she was and let's it slide.

A tarnishing moment on an otherwise great film

First you say she "actually admits" that she deserved to be raped and now you say she "pretty much agrees". What the hell are you talking about this is only your opinion and you are not actually stating facts as you claim? If you have to lie to make a point you are probably wrong in making it. Give me some quotes from the film and not what you are sort of reading in to the movie. Why not go on about how Scarlett O'Hara "actually admitted" she deserved to be raped by Rhett Butler in Gone With The Wind. You are going on about a film with people named "Crabs", "Bunny" and "Donut" for God's sake. Get a life!

I'm writing a paper on Jack Hill, and he addresses the rape scene in his film saying he was basing it on a scene from the Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. Make of that information what you will.

Which one are you talking about?

1) The one where Dom sneaks into Maggie's house

OR

2) The one where they kidnap Dom's brothers girlfriend (by driving a van on the sidewalk at school!) and gang rape her in the van

I shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy.

Then you really shouldn't be watching 70s movies....
