What kind of car was Janssen driving in this?

Hi,
Just wondering what kind of car that David Janssen was driving in this, it is a beautiful red targa top sports car, and I think that Senta Berger was driving a similar car but a silver color full convertible version. If anyone knows for sure, please post a reply!

Thanks!!!

BTW...I liked the film for a dollar store cheapie, but the editing left a lot to be desired!

I'm not very good at picking out cars, but I presume that David is driving a Ferrari based on this exchange of dialogue:

(David Christopher is about to back into a parking space on the side of a street near Hurtil Bank. Denise Abbott drives quickly into the space.)
DAVID CHRISTOPHER: (Apparently notices Abbott in rear view mirror, raises up turns back and says shouts at Abbott) Lady! (Abbott gets out of the car holding some papers in her left hand) Lady! What in the hell are ya doin'?
DENISE ABBOTT: (As someone gets into the car immeidately behind hers) You were planning to park in my spot? I'm sorry. Should I move?
CHRISTOPHER: No, forget it. (Sits down and turn around, as if ready to drive away to look for another spot)
ABBOTT: Oh look, uh, he's moving out (as a car drives away from the space immediately behind Abbott's car). I will hold the place for you, but this time be quick! (She walks over to the space) To drive of another car about to drive into the space) No, I'm sorry, it's, it's for this gentleman over here. (Walks backward onto the sidewalk and waves Christopher over) Hurry! (As his car pulls into the space) You must hurry, you see! (Walks from the sidewalk around the front of Christopher's car to the drivers' side of his car) You forgive me?
CHRISTOPHER: I forgive you.
ABBOTT: (Smiling) Good. We Ferrari owners must stick together! Auf wiedersehen!
(Walks off)
(Christopher sits and stares for a few seconds for getting out of the car and walking off.)

Hi,
Thanks for the reply and for posting that bit of dialouge that points me in the right direction! I didn't recall that bit of dialouge where she mentions that Ferrari owners should stick together, however I did suspect it was a Ferrari as such as I could barely make out the unique shaped badge on the bonnet! Now I shall go online and see if I can identify what exact model of Ferrari it is!!!

Thanks again
BBG.

I'm glad I managed to help you at least learn the brand of the car! Good luck on determining the model!

Yes, the cheapie DVD has very sloppy editing, but you can download a much better version for free at

http://www.publicdomaintorrents.com/nshowmovie.html?movieid=273!

Normally I wouldn't endorse such a practice but I learned last night that apparently this movie is public domain! How it attained such status, I have no idea. I'm a songwriter and know that a song becomes public domain 50 years after the death of its composer. But with movies, I have no idea how it works. I read that many $1 DVDs are of public domain movies/shows.

The copy I downloaded is better in quality that the DVD copy, which apparently is an edited for TV version and a shaky transfer.

This download version contains a few extra/extended scenes. The DVD version I have opens with the murderer waiter wheeling a cart up to Rasher. The download version begins with a brief speech - with the words of the speech printed on a black screen - about Switzerland and its status as a banking haven for people all over the world to hide their dirty money. It then switches to a close up of someone cooking eggs. Several second later, it switches to where the DVD comes in.

The download version also shows somewhat disturbing close up shots of Hayes and Kosta after they are murdered. And most importantly, it shows a mildly graphic bedroom scene with David and Denise, which gives a little insight into the mystery that is a little clouded on the DVD version.

And to top it off, the sound quality is much more consistent than the DVD version that I have. The picture quality isn't outstanding, but I doubt even the original version was. The time of this download copy if !:23:22. If there are any versions out there that are better or more complete, I'm still interested, but I'm quite happy with this download version. Especially since I'm realistic enough to understand that, though I wish differently, there will almost certainly never be a two disc collector's edition of this DVD loaded with special features! Especially now that I've learned the movie is apparently public domain!

Best wishes and may God bless you!
