Was Sweet Hostage first released by Imperial Entertainment?

Also, I need to know what was the VHS's cover box. I have a version that came with a black plastic snap down case with the red and black art work inserted.

Someone told me that this was the original version and that is how Imperial released it in a black plastic snap down case. Someone else told me it was released with a regular type carboard slip cover with same art work.

Any one know the answer?

I know exactly which video version you're talking about. The one by Imperial (with the red box) was NOT cut up originally. It should look like a standard case. Since you mention yours was inserted into a black case, I would check and make sure that your copy is not a bootlegged copy.
