Could someone explain...

Could someone explain what the appeal of this movie is? I didnt realy like anything about it.
* most of the characters are repulsive, except Supervixen
* about half the women were ugly as dogs
* there is very little simulated sex, and not enough FEMALE nudity,
* WAY too much male nudity
* the story is way too complicated for this type of movie

I know this movie has a nice cult following, and I would like to hear what the fans think because I just don't see very much that is good about this flick.

I agree with you. I am an unashamed tit man but apart from the eye candy this movie sucks, boring and unwatchable. I think it was merely russ meyer having the money to put into film a wanking fantasy he had one day.

"not enough FEMALE nudity"
My mind exploded from confusion at reading this part

I agree with you. This movie is just HORRIBLE!
I mean, I love Russ Meyers movies, I find them different, groovy and liberating for women. I love movies like Faster Pussycat Kill Kill! or Vixen! and all his 60s creations...but this Supervixens movie I found it brutal and I actually disliked it a lot, I wouldn't watch it again if I had the chance...
I can't get over the murdering scene, where the cop steps over Super Angel in rage and kills her in the bathtub breaking her bones and then burning her with the radio...is so disgusting, I think it actually disturbing...the rest of the movie is OK, gets nasty at times...

I first saw the movie as a naive 17 year old back in the mid 70's.Most of it is escapist nonsense but the murder scene was just nasty and unnecessary.

The movie was ridiculous, but the women were all pretty attractive. There was not that much sex, true. There was some male nudity, but not that much.

Well, you had to be a young man in your late teens or very early 20's to really enjoy it. Now that I'm 60 years old, I may feel as you do?
Fact is, I may have been 23 at the time when I watched it.
Guess I'd have to join a movie club to see it again, but it must have left an impression on me back then or I wouldn't have remembered it.
He also made Vixen in 1968 and then Supervixens.
Both great movies when you were that age back then.

I could swear someone was going to do a remake of one or both of these films, but I could be wrong or its wishful thinking?

This is not one of my favorites either and I'm a big Meyer fan. I'll admit I didn't like Beyond the Valley of the Dolls or Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! when I first saw them either, but they've since grown on me. Not this one. I hated it then and I still hate it (except for the SuperSoul scenes).
