Why would Floyd stop?

Floyd knew that there were only 5 people at the motel that could have had the jewels. At the end two of them were dead, and Floyd's partner was dead, but Floyd himself was not dead.

The movie should have ended with Floyd taking the jewels from Barbara Bach and her boyfriend as she played with them. Then he is driving down the road with the jewels in a stolen car and an unknown person. Next scene we see Floyd living the good life -- on a yacht with Ursala Undress (she had just lost consciousness, that's all folks) "The End."
