should be a part of ANY Film of the 70s class..
i saw this film when it first came out in the mid 70s in NYC, and i loved it (for different reasons then---Annette O'toole to be specific)...today, it takes on a whole new meaning. this movie defines American 1970s cinema in look and content---small town America and the bust up of the American dream--sex, corruption, mental illness, dysfunction, all which lay in the underbelly of the glossy surface of a Young American Miss beauty pageant, in Santa Rosa, California. Brilliant performances by the entire ensemble about a time in our lives which many of us look back on as the 'good old days'---which, in reality, was far from that ideal. Oh--and a kick a$$ soundtrack!
