To really discuss this we need to break this down into two categories -

2. Supporting Characters - Mausi, Imam Saheb, Ahmed, Jailor, Soorma Bhopali, Sambha, Kalia, Dhanno, Ramlal, Hariram, Narmalaji
Main characters / Supporting characters :
1. Who was the most effective in his/her role, not most popular, most effective ?
2. Which of these characters could not have been played by anyone else ?
3. Who did go out of their way to bring the best out in the character ?
4. Which character was the most memorable one ?
5. Who delivered dialogs that came natural-didn't look like just acting ?
6. Who carried the scene or part of the movie on their shoulder ?
7. Which of these character's life changed forever after Sholay ?
8. Who was most entertaining ?
