DVD???
Not a great version of GM Fraser's "Flashman" series (the only one filmed as a movie to date) but not so bad either. Oliver Reed is always fun to watch. Should be a great DVD with a Richard Lester commentary.

It hink it is a great movie, and lots of fun. I would love to have it on DVD, ideally with commentary from both Lester and McDowell.
shareDoes this mean that you know something? I would love to see this film again - but was not aware that it was going to be released.
shareIt was released on VHS years ago. The DVD-R is for sale at the Alan Bates Archives Shop http://www.alanbates.com/shop.html.
shareI saw this ages ago, and laughed until my cheeks and ribs *ached* from the strain!
It was not only absurdly hilarious in its concept, but the acting and the direction were dead-on—perfect for the tone of the movie. There were subtle & absurd visual jokes, finely nuanced over-the-top performances by a dream-team cast... perfection!
I've been trying to buy a copy of this for years! Someone needs to capture the work of these fine actors and the clever director, and let this be enjoyed!
It was on the late-late show on TV once, but they cut out all the bawdy stuff and added commercials instead. So, needless to say, there was only about a 15-minute stretch of film left, and the commercials could bore you to stone.
SOMEONE needs to put this on DVD!
.
I agree entirely. I'm in the UK, and to my knowledge it has only been shown on telly here a couple or three times, and I usually spot it in the listings after it's been on! I'd love a copy, but I'm damned if I'll give $38 for it. At that sort of money it appears as if Flashy himself has a hand in the marketing! Oh well, maybe some day someone will get their act together and put this film out at a reasonable price.

Are you able to send this out? I would love to see it again?
shareHello. I'd very much like to get a copy of Royal Flash on DVD. I've read all the Flashman books and I've tried over the years to find this movie. If you can do this, please send a reply to [email protected]
Thanks!!
I was at a celebrity convention in July and was told there is a DVD in the works at this time. I do not know when it will be released.
shareI know for a fact it will be coming out sometime next year on DVD. I have a friend that did the commentary with Malcolm McDowell. I am looking forward to watch the movie again after all these years.
shareDo you know if a US release is planned?
