I'm not a fan of Wayne either, and not particularly fond of Westerns for that matter, but a few of his films overcome my usual ambivalence.
The Shootist, The Man Who Shot Liberty Vallance, Stagecoach and, well anything directed by John Ford, are certainly worth a look for anyone.

Not a fan of his, either, though honestly I haven't seen many of his movies, except for the ones he did with Marlene Dietrich. I bought this DVD because of Hepburn only, but I confess I ended up liking him in this very much, as well. Guess I find the older Wayne much more likeable, and his chemistry with Hepburn was terrific. Wish they had done another movie together.

Then you really aren't competent to judge him, or the movies he made, are you? Why don't you watch them all and then give us your brilliant opinions?

LOL, you really need to re-read my post and relax a little bit. There was nothing judgemental towards John Wayne on what I wrote before.

Katherine Hepburn and John Wayne are marvelous on this movie. The last one they did together. I still watch it with the same pleasure.

And we're supposed to take seriously something written by a person who can't correctly spell Hepburn's name?
