brilliant

this is probably one of the finest films made by joseph losey. It is intelligent, literate and very satisfying to watch. This was once regarded as mainstream saturday night viewing. How things have changed for the worse

Not one of Losey's best but it whiled away the time. When Caine had a go at that Kate Nelligan (Who wouldn't?) I thought his parting shot was going to be "... and stop throwing them spears!".

Marlon, Claudia and Dimby the cats 1989-2005, 2007 and 2010.

Did you understand the ending, were they supposed to be back together because she seemed to not really want to go back. Such an abrupt ending. They told us nothing.

I hear you, but it's possible that the whole thing never actually happened & it was just Caine working out the story for the screenplay he was writing, about a woman who runs away from her life, just as Jackson did. That's the lovely twist at the end: did any of it really happen or are we watching Caine's imagination?

I too love it. Caine, Jackson, Berger, Lonsdale, Stoppard, Losey, plus Yves Saint Laurent. What a treat!!
