Did Eddie live in the castle too? I dont get his character or why he was there...

Eddie was the (drug) delivery boy. Columbia has been dating him. Frank seduces Eddie then tears out his brain to use for his new creation, Rocky. Frank locks Eddie in the freezer then when Frank turns on the sonic oscillator, Eddie is revived and breaks out of the freezer.

Is this all better explained in the stage production ? I'm guessing it is since they don't go anywhere near explaining it in the movie, or at least not that I recall.
