Why not on DVD?

This title has been on my "want list" ever since I got my first DVD player.
I did find a copy on VHS so maybe I'll have to get it tranfered to disc (for my own entertainment, of course. LOL)

Before everybody bought GIGANTIC flat-screen TV's and Sony came out with Blew-Ray (I know it is spelled Blu-Ray) studios were releasing many, many, many older titles on regular DVD..

Now that Blew-Ray is slowly taking over, studios have to start all over and release the earlier regular DVD stuff on to Blew-Ray before they get to this film.

By the way, I just read that in 5 years Blew-Ray will be replaced by ULTRA.

And the beat goes on. Yeah, the beat goes on.

Ultra? I haven't even gotten to blu-ray. I have Return to Macon County on VHS and it's fine, also have Macon county on DVD from wal mart.
Love these movies, I live in Ga. and travel back roads.
this old movie will be on DVD someday just like all the others.

I suspect it has something to with the rights to the music used in the film.

I think you're right. This film has a lot of classic rockabilly/doo-wop songs that are probably still copyright protected.

It's too bad this is not on DVD, but I was lucky to find this on VHS for $2. It has nothing to do with "Macon County Line," but it's a pleasant ride and Nick Nolte and Don Johnson work well together.

RMC is currently showing on Comcast-On-Demand in the "Free Movies" section. It's a fullscreen presentation and the film looks very bright and colorful when compared to the VHS version. Hopefully this is a sign that a DVD release is forthcoming.

Thanks for the update! I'm glad to hear this little gem hasn't been forgotten.
