the distant ancestor

I never saw this movie before; kept hoping for something interesting to happen, but it managed to make things that should be interesting seem dull. But it sure was the obvious ancestor of movies like American Graffiti and Two Lane Blacktop.

It's very much on the vein of those films – with the sentiment of "American Graffiti" and the action of "Two Lane Blacktop" – and it fit in nicely with other films that followed such as "Eat My Dust" and "Grand Theft Auto."

Since Return to Macon County came out two years and four years later respectively, wouldn't that make Return to Macon County their descendant?
