I think it has to have a different storyline from the original. I mean the whole satanic panic thing died out in like the 90s. despite all the scary stories theres no evidence organized satanic cults exist or ever did. Many of the scary stories were the result of recovered memory therapy which has been totally discredited and not taken seriously anymore. What im saying is that satanic stuff is not taken seriously anymore.
Anyway i was thinking it would have to be something like they witness a gang killing? Something along those lines. Is there much info out yet on the remake? Id like to know if im right or wrong on this.

Well Satanic groups and Witch Covens do exist, but I've never known of them to exist as they are portrayed in movies, much less this one. I think if there was going to be a modern remake of the movie, that for it to be successful it would have to include some element of Occultism gone very bad. If they did a remake with a witnessed gang killing as the plot device, they would have to alter or change the name of the movie. And to me that wouldn't really be a remake, just a re-visioning. If even that.
