I love Argento, but this movie is so boring
If you delete all the boring parts, you get about 5 minutes of suspense/action. how can so many people rate this higher than Suspiria and Tenebre. i mean, i JUST DONT GET IT!

shareI don't think Deep Red's boring. The suspense and mystery elements work well enough to punctuate the murder scenes.
sharepersonally, for me this was my first experience with Argento's work. i had no knowledge of his movies or even the film genre of giallo, and frankly, it blew me away and then sucked me in back in.
for the most part, i think all of Argento's plots are pretty silly, but they are a lot of fun. Profondo Rosso is no exception, but something in it just works better than most of his work. don't get me wrong, i love Suspiria and especially Tenebre (probably one of my all time favorite movies), but this has a special place in my heart.
it just comes down to personal opinion, i guess.
because its just as good as Suspria and better than Tenebre.
