The BALLS on Argento to show the killer in the first 10 minutes. It's like he is daring you to figure it out. Wow! Even Hitchcock did not show this much swagger lol.

I thought the same thing when I finished the movie the first time. Dario is seriously one of the bravest directors ever. I respect him for that.

Just finished watching it a few minutes ago. You're right. That was a bold, audacious choice. And it worked like gangbusters.
shareI obviously did not get it at first viewing. Only this post made me realize that we actually see the killer's face in this scene.
I just re-watched that bit on my computer and...
we only see the killer's face for 6 frames
(and it's not in the centre of the screen, and surrounded by other faces, painted)...
so a quarter of a second...
the chances that somebody will pick this up at first viewing are very close to 0%
I'm not sure if Argento show that much of "BALLS" by doing this, but it's a nice retroactive twist.
