What is the name of the movie -

that is kind of like "Picnic at hanging rock." but instead of a group of women disappearing. it is a regiment of British soldiers during WWI in Turkey. they were ordered to charge the Turks and on the way they get disappear in a fog and they could not find a trace of them. I saw this movie a long, long time ago and I never though of it again until I saw PAHR a few days ago. I want to say Edward Woodward was in it. the only other thing I remember was that the company of soldiers had something to do with the royal family but I can't remember how. I do know that I liked it and that it had a sense of eeriness that PAHR has but not the same tension.
