Hay pasiones que matan.
"La Pasión según Berenice"
first of all good news for all those non-spanish speakers who are interestesd on watching this movie. The DVD released by IMCINE is quite good.
The Image is not perfect, is not as good as other releases by IMCINE like "El principio" "Canoa" or "La mujer de Benajmín", but it's quite good.
Is presented in its original aspect ratio aprox 1.77:1 widescreen but sadly it's non-anamorphic.
The audio is in Spanish DD 2.0, it's understandable but has some instances of hiss, anyway it's not distracting.
It contains subtitles in English and French and it's region-free (playable on any DVD player).
The supplements are not many but interesting: The original trailer, a photogallery, bios and filmographies for the director and leading actors, a brief interviews with Director Jaime Humberto Hermosillo (transcripted) and actors: Martha Navarro and Pedro Armendáriz Jr. (this two in video, without subtitles).
Besides that there are a couple of trailers for other two movies released on DVD by IMCINE.
Overall is way superior than its counterpart in region 1. The price is about 17 dollars or 160-180 pesos in most mexican DVD retailers like mixup.com
