Incredible film!

There's really nothing negative that I can say about this film. It is a flawless timeless masterpiece. Everything ranging from the cast, the writing, the cinematography, the story and character development, the score, etc. Everything was just perfect. Definitely in my top 100 all time favorite films. An absolute classic.

The ending is actually quite emotional. No matter how many times I watch it, that scene when McMurphy returns from being lobotomized and Chief has to put him out of his misery is so sad. That scene always gets to me.

So overall, fantastic movie. A must see.

I agree. I also love the final scene where Chief rips the giant sink out the ground and throws it out the window! Then jumps out the window and runs away! Such a cool ending!

reply

Agreed. That was a great ending. I'm glad Chief escaped.

I agree it's a fantastic movie and it only gets better with time! I cry every time I see it. While I'm happy for Chief at the end, my heart aches for McMurphy. What was done to him was so unfair and so vindictive!

reply

Agreed. I wish McMurphy could've escaped as well.

Lol ok yes. Vindictive to lobotomise someone who just attempted to kill a head nurse... It's funny what movies can do to people's sense of right and wrong.

Lol ok yes, a head nurse who just before being choked, cruelly threatened to expose intimate details about a patient’s sexual encounter to his family, and knowing his sensitivity to such threats, causes him to commit suicide by slicing his neck open with broken glass. What a class act that head nurse is.

Man, I know we now live in a backwards world when there are people actually defending Nurse Ratched. 😂

To McMurphy, Billy was a good kid, and just experienced one of the great moments in a young man’s life, and McMurphy saw how happy he was, only to see Nurse Ratched destroy that happiness and drive the kid to suicide. Right or wrong, I can understand him going into a rage at that point.

I totally agree, such a brilliant film. So emotional at the end, gut wrenching. Films like this just aren’t made anymore.

reply

Yes, a great, great movie...one of the greatest movies ever made, IMO.
