I think I got ripped off. Actually, it's usually always worth a dollar to see a real old, bad movie with such a noteworthy cast.

I'm gonna do a mash-up of this movie and the 70's sexy-stewardess comedy "Superchick." Maybe mix in a few choice bits from "Airplane!" and "Snakes On a Plane."

I paid $2 (Australian - about $1.50 USD) but got three movies on the one disc, this one, Hangmen (Sandra Bullocks debut) and Mesmerized (Jodie Foster film) in what they call Hollywood Divas Volume One - I have watched the other two and they are pretty crappy this one to go, and I am not expecting much, hey but theres $2 worth of value though!

I have an eternal hope.

One of the low-power digital stations in Las Vegas (47.5) shows old, public domain movies free of commercials. The quality is just terrible. Some of the old ones look like seventh generation prints made from a kinescope filmed off an old, worn-out black and white TV.

Anyway, this clunker showed up today, and I feel ripped-off even though I didn't pay anything. I seem to remember seeing some good movie-of-the-week type films back in the 70's, but if this bomb is any kind of example, my memory is deeply flawed.

What really surprises me is the cast. There are a lot of fine actors in this one. And while some of the other actors aren't all that terrific, they were well known enough in the 70's to have commanded a decent salary. I guess all the budget went into the payroll because it sure didn't show up in the script!

***POSSIBLE SPOILERS***

The scenes that were supposedly at London Heathrow Airport were funny too, I'll just say the police uniforms and the helmets that were worn a bit wrong, very out of date for the 1970s. And BLACKPOOL departures? Not from Heathrow, though these days Ryanair have operated flights from London Stansted to Blackpool.

I got it for $2 with another film on the same disc. The name of the other escapes me just at the moment.
