This is one of my favorite action movies. I have it on an old videotape I purchased several years ago from an Asian video store. I wonder if this movie is ever going to be released on DVD in the US. I really enjoy Brian Trenchard-Smith's films and it's a shame some of his best films are not available in the US.
shareAt the moment, there has been no US DVD release of the film. There have been at least four DVD releases of the film overseas. One in particular was released by a company called Banzai Media Corporation. This DVD is a region free disc, meaning it can be played on North American DVD players. Unfortunately, this release is not shown in its correct Panavision aspect ratio. As a matter of fact, this release contains the exact same transfer (including incorrect aspect ratio), and special features found on the very first overseas DVD release of the film from Screen Sound Australia.

I think the Hong Kong DVD release from Fortune Star contains the better transfer, and it is shown in its correct aspect ratio (2.35:1). I wasn't impressed with the transfer on the ScreenSound Australia and Banzai DVDs.
One strike against the Fortune Star release is that one scene was deleted from the film. The deleted scene was included, however, as a bonus feature on the DVD.
The ScreenSound and Banzai DVDs contain the deleted scene within the film. Again, these releases are not shown in its correct 2.35:1 aspect ratio.
There is also a 2 disc DVD set that was released in Australia and a DVD release in Germany. I have not seen either of these releases myself. I did find a page that shows screenshot comparisons between the 2 disc Australia release and the Fortune Star release. In viewing the screenshots, it appears the 2 disc DVD release also shows the film in its correct 2.35:1 aspect ratio. You can find the screenshot comparison here.
