Corny "success" line was a poor imitation of the line from Love Story

A few years before Mahogany, there was a movie called Love Story, which was at the time that generation's "Titanic." Anyway, it had probably one of the most quoted (but corniest) lines of all time in movie history, "Love means never having to say you're sorry."

It seems as if the screenwriters of Mahogany wanted to have a line just like that in Mahogany, so came up with, "Success is nothing without having someone to share it with."
