Anyone claiming to have a DVD is lying

Harry Gulkin, the movie's producer told a Montreal audience he can't find anyone to release the movie on DVD, but he's working on it.

This was last year at the Jewish Film festival. I doubt anything has changed since then.

Well, I'm sure you can find bootleg copies of this film on DVD, but these are copied from VHS tape or airings on television and are generally of very poor quality. In fact, there's a post on this board selling a DVD from such a source. I avoid these because they cheat the filmmakers out of royalties, and the quality is so bad. I wish a studio would issue a quality version of this film.

reply

They're no worse quality than a VHS tape if done right and we all survived on those for years. And its only cheating the producers out of money if the movie is available to buy from said producers, which this isn't.

reply

It's cheating the producer if he's trying to release it on DVD, and the last I heard, he still is. Of course, I still survive on VHS, so maybe my views are outdated.

reply

I have a DVD, but it's not of this movie.

reply

Have to admit, I smiled at that one...

Nothing infuriates me more than when you're looking for a movie that you want really badly and you can't find a single source for it no matter how hard you look and then you go online requesting assistance, and someone replies offering no help to your query whatsoever except to only make a non-efficacious comment but I have to admit that 'borogroves' interjectional "2 cents" IS refreshingly witty. I have to admit I did get a good chuckle...

"Why me?...I mean, why me?"

reply

I see you entered your comment in 2007, so I have the benefit of hindsight :-) There is a DVD now, and, lo, I do own it. And what is more... I am not lying!
