Maybe it was because African Americans were involved in the acting and directing, etc, but there were no offensive sterotypes or bunch of racial slurs for blacks to complain about.
Cosby and Poitner were two Robin Hood heroes for a good cause.

I thought the part when Cosby acts like he caught the man in the act of breaking hotel rules was hilarious. Experienced professional comedians such as he and others contributed to making all three films funny.

I think Bill Cosby and Sidney Poitier set about making an alternative to the blaxploitation films that were so influential at the time. Some great humor, writing and performances here – and you don't hear the N-word once. I love Cosby's orange jumpsuit and wrap-around shades!
