Is this the one where....?

I think this might be the one I'm thinking of.

Is this the one that has caged wolves in a zoo or a circus, a secret tunnel the werewolf sneaks about in and the love of a woman almost saves him?

Don't remember much about it other than I enjoyed it when I was a kid. Thought till recently it was CURSE OF THE WEREWOLF, but saw that recently and it wasn't.

There is a zoo with caged wolves where the main character works. No secret tunnel, but the finale takes place in the tunnel of a sewer system.

I think you're mixing up two movies a bit. Yes, there are caged wolves in a zoo here and the werewolf does use the sewer system to get around. However, the movie in which the love of a woman almost manages to save the werewolf, is Curse of the Werewolf.

There is a secret tunnel of sorts. The werewolf moves around via the sewers, which he accesses through a manhole in his quarters.

Since posting, I managed to get hold of both films and I was indeed mixing them up. It's good to see them both again, they used to terrify me when I was a kid, not so much now but still good fun.

Just came on here to ask whether it's the one with the zoo.
I wanted to know whether it was Roy Castle as the zoo keeper, but of course it wasn't.
I loved this film as a kid. Great cast, and strange colour tint!

Yes it is the one with the zoo,
like you i thought it was Roy Castle who was the zookeeper, but it was Ron Moody
Roy Castle plaqys a photographer.
Its about time this got a proper DVD release
