Overdue for a DVD

There are plenty of lessor efforts out there that have had their digital debut, so it's time to give this one a DVD release.

Hey Buddy

I noticed you on quite a lot of the Hammer film's message boards, it seems we have similar tastes, at least as far as horror films are concerned. I managed to find this on DVD on e-bay, but it's clearly someone's DIY job. It's pretty good quality, though I agree that an oficial release is well overdue. The other movie that I'm looking for to complete my collection is The Ghoul, also directed by Freddie Francis and starring Peter Cushing, I can only find this on NTSC VSH.

The Ghoul is available on DVD under the U.S. title of Night of the Ghoul.

NIGHT OF THE GHOUL shows up in a couple of those multi-movie collections, where you get 10 (or more) horror films for around $10-20. Don't know how the quality is, as it seems like most of those sets have about 50% of titles I already own, so I've held off on getting them.

I don't suppose you could tell me where I might locate one of those? (American would be fine, I have a multi region DVD player). The only 'Ghoul' I can ever find is the Boris Karloff one which also turns up on those multi-buy disks, usually with a bunch of Roger Corman movies.

I don't know of a specific place to look, but when I have found them, they were often in either the Horror section, or in the bargain section of DVDs for under $10. I think, in the U.S., I've stumbled across these at FYE, Best Buy, Meijer and the SunCoast/Media Play/Sam Goody chain (which is currently suffering from financial problems.) Since most of the other 10-12 movies on those sets are either films I already have, or films I never want to see again, I never picked any of them up. But, since the Cushing film seems destined to only see DVD this way, if I ever find another, I may have to rethink my decision.

Anyone know if an official dvd release is due soon?

I was lucky enough to interview director Freddie Francis a few years back.
You can read it here:
