Michael Moorcock

Interesting to see Moorcock's early contributions. In his younger days before he created Elric, Jerry Cornelius,Hawkmoon and Co. he was a major ERB fan and started his own fanzine, even writing pastiches under the name Edger P. Bradbury. (ERB/EPB). That probably seems all so long ago in his hungry lean salad days now. I wonder what he thinks of this early effort of his?

True,not great but good.
A better adaptation than most of a Burrough's book.
The costuming and eqiptment of the Germans is quite well done.
Definitely worth a watch on a cold Saturday night.

In John Brosnan's(SPOILERS AHEAD) book Future Shock, Moorcock was interviewed and spoke about his involvement in this project, he was paid the grand total of £1000 for his efforts (split between him and his collaborator James Cawthorn I assume.)

His screeplay did follow the storyline of the book more closely, with some alterations (Tyler's Airdale doggie sidekick, Nobs, has bit the dust, The u-boat captain Von schoenvorts gets a bigger part, and is less of the steriotypical WW1 ranting and cruel teutonic, and gentler and more philosophical, the nasy side of his character is actually personified in another character, Dietz, a character barely mentioned in the book.)

Moorcock and Cawthorn detested the cliche'd volcanic eruption ending, this was added at the insistence of the producers script reviews.

Everything will be OK in the end, if it aint OK,it aint the end.
