Major minuses for this film

SPOILERS
***********************

Way too much film time was spent in Caan's recuperation from Duvall's kneecapping shots. Just got boring as you knew in first 30 seconds he would recover enough to fight again.

All that film time spent with his nurse girlfriend who just disappears when Caan goes for the big bodyguard transport. What happened to her?

Ninja action! Jeeze, I hate Ninja action films. They're all unbelievable cartoons.
I got this out on DVD because of the stellar cast, only to have it degenerate into Ninja fantasy. My rating dropped to a 6 based on these cheesy scenes alone.

The two big pluses were Duvall's laugh in the car with Caan and the always enjoyable Bo Hopkins playing his typical Bo Hopkins role

Good film in 76 and now,but ninja silliness ruined it.
Better than the filth that spews from the deviates now days.

"Too much film time..." applies to about 80% of the scenes in this movie...

I just watched this on prime and you're right. I don't understand Peckinpah's use of camera time to see Caan's recuperation.

Also, the exposition of the "firm" and how they operate using that silly airport scuffle had me confused and irritated. I had no idea who was fighting who as they seem to cast two groups of Asians in opposing camps but they were dressed the same, then you had non-Asian fighters jumping into and across the screen. Seemed very Keystone Cop-like.
