Can you think of a better title than Jaws?

"Sharp Attack"?

reply

No, even though I don't think it's a great title, I can't think of anything better at this hour.

But it was the title of a best-selling book, and they paid a lot of money for the rights, so they were gonna use it.

"Eating Machine"

"Knaws"

Jaws is perfect. Else you'd be getting into titles that have been taken already because of the success of Jaws.

“That’s a Twenty footer......

...Twenty-Five”

reply

Calling the movie "That's a Twenty footer" instead of Jaws would have been funny.

The Jaws

Maws

I's Ascared a Dat Big Ole Fish

In the German version it's called "The (great) White Shark", which not only gives away what kind of shark it is, but is just so lame. But calling it Jaws in German would just be so awkward.

reply

Im Deutsch it would be "Kiefer".

reply

Use the French title translation.

'The Teeth from the Sea'.

Or call it 'Fin' just to confuse them.

reply

"Swallow You Whole"

reply

"Chomp"?? lol No, there's really nothing better than 'Jaws', short and to the point.

Anything else would be borderline silly or too graphic.

reply

Doesn't "Fin" mean The End in French? That would make for a heck of a movie. Over before it began. No wonder nobody showed up.

Not counting the dog.

reply

It's called 'Haisommer' (Shark Summer) in Norwegian.

reply

This is actually one of the better English to Norwegian title translations.

reply

That's such an on the nose B movie sort of title. Made me laugh.

reply

In Finland it's called "Tappajahai" which translates to "killer shark"

reply

"Fin Sea"
