Anyone else feel sorry for the man on the ferry?

Brody asks the guy piloting the ferry, to take him out to the kids who were swimming in the bay. Then Vaughn and the others show up, stay aboard for the conversation with Brody and then tell the ferry guy to turn around and take them back!

This bit cracks me up every time, surprised he didn't have a go at them for wasting his time. What a waste of a trip.

Also, does this mean Brody never got to go out and warn those kids?
