how do they know it's the same shark that's killing people?

there could be lots of sharks terrorising amity, so how do they know it's just one?

reply

That occurred to someone, so there was a sequel.

reply

Comparing the freakin’ bite radius crap on the victims.

reply

They could barely convince people there was 1 shark. Do you really think they would believe in multiple predators.

reply

It would of been better at the end if they go out thinking it was one shark and are attacked by 2 this would of made more sense.

reply

It would "have" been better too, if you could please use correct grammar!

It's an epidemic. Should "of", could "of", confusing there, they're, and their, it's or its. Also pluralizing everything!! Singular collective nouns are going out of the window!

I'm not really as much of a stickler as I must sound, it's just so prevalent these days, all over the place all the time.

reply

Thank you for noticing! Yeah I agree the "pluralizing of everything" and your/you're are the worst offenders.

reply

I'm a little forgiving if it's a quick post on social media for your/you're or there/they're

However - would of, could of, should of - are inexcusable. At least with the others, the alternative has an actual use case and can be easily mixed up by someone that's not so careful.

There's never a reason to use would of, could of, should of. It makes no sense in any context.

The other one that I see close to the same category is using apostrophe S for plural.

reply

No. Using apostrophe s to create a plural form busts open the door to illiteracy.

Part of the problem is that the spellcheck function on this feckless site automatically automatically creates an “‘s” on most words ending in s, and God forbid that anyone actually proofs her/his posts.

reply

Oh I'm not talking about adding an s. I'm talking about pluralizing singular collective nouns, i.e. the Vatican are - NO, the Vatican is, it's one Vatican. Or the school system here are - NO, it's one school system. The school system here IS poorly run. These are just two examples off the top of my head. I see it all the time though. I started noticing it a couple of years ago and it's gotten worse. Oh well. . . .

reply

Yes, I get it. I was adding my common frustrations to yours. 😁

Gotcha 🙂

One things for sure, it wasn’t a propeller. And it wasn’t Jack the Ripper.

reply

They didn't. Thats why there were sequels

In the original Moby Dick novel Melville explains how Ahab was able to track down the whale several years after their first encounter.
