I bought this at Wal-Mart for $1. I think it is an OK movie, but it seems like it has been edited. It starts a little bit into the opening credits and there is one scene (where John Candy and the other detective go up to Sweeney's apartment) where it looks like they cut out a good bit of it. Sweeney leads one of them away and then it cuts to the two detectives side by side. One of them then says something about preverts. Is it just on this DVD or are all the versions like this?

Wow, must have been some really rude comments deleted. And since no one else has replied since..... Feb 6 2005 I'll give it a shot almost three years later! Anyway, yeah your version is apparently hacked up pretty badly because that is not even close to the beginning of the movie. As a matter of fact it is a long way into the DVD before we even see John Candy! (are you certain you are watching the same movie?)

Even at fifty cents you got ripped off!

I wholeheartedly agree with the observations regarding the apparent editing out of the beginning of the opening titles and the scene mentioned above. Strange that it should be censored as there are a couple curses remaining. All in all, someone owes be about 90 minutes of my life back.

I got mine for 50 cents at the Dollar Tree!!! You can't beat it for 50 cents!
