DVD with English subtitles????

Does anyone know if this film has ever been released anywhere on DVD with English subtitles? My DVD player can play PAL or NTSC from any region, so the place of origin is not a problem. Thanks!

I did a little research to find it out, but unfortunately it looks like we're gonna wait some more for the release.

Not anymore :(!

Go to Criterion and ask them to work on Satyajit Ray films, a good Kwaidan rerelease.

I just ordered it from exploited. :)

I have been looking for this movie ever since the Z channel weekend on IFC. I have been kicking myself since that weekend that I didn't tape all the movies that IFC ran. With The main thing is to love, I am pretty sure that all the movies they ran that weekend are now available on dvd. So that's a nuisance that has been cleared up for me. I can't wait to get my copy of it and watch it, hopefully it will be there for me next weekend when I come home from college. COOL>

I'd still like to see it with English subtitles. Studio Canal has a beautiful master (at 1.66:1 - I've heard the German DVD is 1.78:1) and they have supplied materials to Criterion in the past (not to mention Anchor Bay and Optimum).

It will be re-released in the USA by Mondo Vision in a new restored limited edition this year.

They're also releasing Zulawski's La Femme Publique and L'amour Braque.

mmmm..for anyone looking for this film in the original language with English subtitles then there is a box set of Romy Schneider films here in Holland. Its a UNIVERSAL release along with STUDIO CANAL and its called SCREEN ICONS- ROMY SCHNEIDER. In any case it has both the Zulawski film and Romy's LES CHOSES DA LA VIE and some others. It has options for both English and French soundtracks and a several subtitles options(English, Netherlands, Spanish)....

The limited edition Mondo Vision releases of Zulawski's films are fantastic and of a nearly Criterion quality. They are thoroughly worth paying even up to 30 dollars for. Even better than that, Zulawski, in the commentary, makes no bones about his dislike for Spielberg's mediocre films. Spielberg is not only the most vastly overrated director in history but a PROVEN liar and propagandist who was thoroughly exposed in the film "Last Days of the Big Lie," which you can only watch on the internet.
