How the hell did Wenders get away with showing a guy masturbating?
Oddly enough, as the case usually is with Wenders, it was completely appropriate, and, it's hard to see any point in cropping it out to make it less explicit.
Anyway, great film which had several somewhat unexpected moments (see the other thread, lol). I really need to see more of Wenders' early films.
I thought the defecation was More outrageous. It's a great film though.

shareHe's referring to a scene in the section of the film where Bruno and Robert have split (the latter to see his father). In the theater (where pornography is being screened, if that helps you remember), Bruno goes up to help the projectionist (who has no experience). Take it from someone who has seen it in the theater from a second-row seat; the character is visibly masturbating (as in, his hand and his member are visible) rather than tending to his duties.
