Bruno/Philip Winter chracter

I just watched Kings of The Road for the first time last night, great film.

I thought I'd check out the imdb page and noticed the Bruno/Philip Winters character appears in a few Wenders' films.

Can someone tell me if this is meant to be the same character (and if so, how he evolves) or whether this is just a generic character name that Wenders uses for Rüdiger Vogler and whether there is any other significance?

I'm not sure if it is the same character or not, but in the other films that he's in, there's no reference made to there being any connection to the other incarnations. Great films, though! I even love Faraway, So Close! and Until The End of the World, despite their reputations with the critics. This also has a little bit of info:
