Who had the gun?

I have the DVD of this movie and it's in full screen but my question is about the scene with Petibone at the end of the fight in the bayou. It doesn't show who has the gun that Poe is talking about when Speed tries to get back the prize money. Did Petibone or the shorter guy on the right have the weapon drawn?

Pettibon did not have the gun it was his buddy. So later when they break the window and distract their attention, Chaney knows who has the gun and he takes it off him.
