My new favorite Bronson film!

Discovered this gem on netflix and went out and bought it the next day. Previous to this movie my favorite Bronson film was 10 to Midnight.

haha I watched Bronson two days ago, and it brought me here, Is it a good movie?
p.s I love Blood Sport.

Ahh its so great...all the characters are so colorful and James Coburn is a hoot!

I agree that this is my favourite Bronson film. Most people only know him from the Death Wish series, but Bronson is at his quiet, brooding best in this movie. Another one, which I always enjoyed as well, is Red Sun, pairing Bronson's cowboy opposite Toshiro Mifune's Samurai in the old west. They play off one another well.

Thanks for that suggestion Rick. I netflixed Red Sun and was impressed! Bought it on DVD the next day.

To quote Speed from the movie: "Oh, he sure was something."

"I told you it was off." The Jackal

"Once Upon a Time in the West" is his best (performance wise too), but "Hard Times" is definitely not far behind. Great, great film.

Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!

10 to Midnight is solid, Hard Times has always been my favorite Charlie Bronson flick. The Mechanic is a close second.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

reply

i just finished seeing this for the first time on Feb 7th 2015 and i wished i had seen it a while ago. i give it a 6.5-7/10.

his best movie is still easily... Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) (10/10) though. outside of that i would go with Death Wish (1974)(7.5-8/10) and then possibly Hard Times (1975)(6.5-7/10). i could have listed some more but i pretty much stuck to the movies where Charles Bronson is more of a clear lead in which kind of excludes The Dirty Dozen/The Great Escape etc.
