Great flick. Still holds up

Haven't watched this film in years and I remember fond memories of it so I decided to get it and watch it again since old movies are like old friends and you have to visit them every once in a while to keep the relationship going. Man was I pleasantly surprised that it wasn't just my young impressionable mind as the reason I loved this film so long ago. After just seeing it I have to say the film really does stand the test of time and really holds up.

I agree. It's rough, rousing and colourful entertainment. I too gave it eight out of 10 stars.

What do you think this is, a signature? It's a way of life!

reply

For sure. One of Bronson's best IMO.

HT is one of those great cult movie surprises when people finally get around to watching it. This along with Death Wish and Mr. Majestyk are his best solo movies IMO.

Before watching it, I knew very little about this film so I really didn't know what to expect...

...damn did I love it.

9/10

Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!

Glad to see the film is still winning hearts. It really does deserve it and actually puts a lot of modern films to shame in the same genre.

Just saw it for the first time in my life a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed it. I'm no Bronson expert, but it's the best role I've seen him in. I hate the Deathwish movies. I think they are really poorly done.

Bronson is more believable as fighter than Stallone ever was.
Amen to that!

Yeah. I just watched it for the first time. Very good. I like the ending. Modern movie with such plot would end probably totally different, but I don't want to give any spoilers. Btw. You wrote it beautifully. I appreciate that old friend metaphore.
